This DIY project on how to make ornaments for your tree or name tags for your gifts or stockings is just like baking cookies. But simpler and less messier. Like literally. You can create whatever shape your heart desires and paint whatever designs and colors you feel like doing. Whatever theme you decorated with this holiday season, this easy DIY project goes with just that.

- cookie cutters
- sculpey clay
- glass oven dish
- rolling pin
- paint & brushes (optional), I used Craft Smart paint
- toothpick
- a straw

Most of these things, you probably already have chilling in your pantry! All I had to buy was the box of sculpey clay which ended up being a lot more than I needed. And instead of buying a whole set of round cookie cutters, I just used the top rim of a cup for the round shape I wanted. Anyway, once you have all your materials together, go ahead and take a piece of clay out (they’re usually packaged in little blocks) and start spreading it out with your rolling pin.

Once you thin it out a little, place your cookie cutters over it and press down hard enough to where it cuts out the shape.

Use a straw to create a hole for putting string through later on.

Then if you would like to write anything, use a toothpick to do that before you bake the clay. Don’t worry about the excess clay sticking out, that can easily be sanded off once the clay is hard. If you’re a perfectionist or someone who just has stamps laying around, than by all means that will work too! Instead of writing it, you can stamp on your message for a more clean and professional look. If you have a hard time getting the clay off the work surface, try using a spatula or a scraper to pick it up without breaking anything apart.

Now your little creations are ready to be put into the oven! The oven should be turned on for 275F and the clay should be in there for 15 minutes.
Once that is done and the gift tags are cooled down, your paintbrushes are ready to go! That is if you are painting. If you had that excess clay sticking out after writing, grab some sandpaper and use it to take away the rough edges beforehand. Sometimes I like to go minimal so I didn’t paint all of mine but kept it nice and simple.
That is all there is to it! An easy way to personalize your tree, stocking, and gifts. Or whatever else 😉

Hello would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working
with? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a
hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask! https://greenforceketo.org/
